ABOUT

At The Pure Intentions Foundation, our mission is to empower young adults by creating meaningful opportunities for professional development and academics, mentorship, community engagement, fitness, and personal growth.

These pillars reflect the life and legacy of Darron Burks, whose unwavering commitment to service continues to inspire our work. Darron was more than a dedicated educator—he was a guiding force in the lives of countless young people.

As a passionate Math teacher for over 15 years, a devoted community volunteer, and a servant leader in organizations like the Boy Scouts of America and his local church, he gave generously of both his time and heart. His desire to make a greater impact led him to become a Police Officer, where he sought to protect and uplift his community on a broader scale.

On a tragic night, Officer Darron Burks was shot and killed while in his squad car at the 900 block of East Ledbetter Drive. At 10:10 p.m., officers responded to an officer-in-distress call, but his life was taken far too soon. Darron was a loving son, brother, uncle, and friend—someone whose presence brought light and guidance to everyone he encountered.

While his physical presence is no longer with us, his purpose lives on. The Pure Intentions Foundation is dedicated to continuing the work Darron started, ensuring his legacy of service, compassion, and mentorship endures for generations to come.
